At the heart of our biofilm research are two key groups: Biofilm-Associated Infection, dedicated to unraveling the complexities of biofilm-related infections and developing innovative diagnostics and treatments to improve patient care; and Drug Discovery, which harnesses Indonesia’s rich biodiversity to explore natural compounds for novel antibiofilm agents and therapeutics with real-world impact.
But why stop there? We believe in pushing boundaries and plan to expand our research groups, because understanding biofilms requires a multidisciplinary, broad-spectrum approach. When it comes to biofilms, the more brains, the better!
Our institution’s biobank houses an expanding collection of pathogens involved in biofilm-related infections. Through our collaboration with the National Research and Innovation Agency, we also gain access to InaCC (Indonesia Culture Collection), a key resource to Indonesia’s rich treasure trove of microbial biodiversity.
At our research collaboration centre, daily life is fueled by brainstorming, knowledge-sharing, and a vibrant spirit of collaboration. We host webinars, welcome visiting professors, lead focus group discussions, and organize guest lectures—strengthening both national and international partnerships.
